Q:  How long does it take to go from EMT-Basic to EMT-Paramedic?

A:  Our EMT Intermediate and Paramedic courses each run approximately 6 months.  If you take both classes back to back, you would be in class for about a year.

Q:  Do I have to be an EMT-Basic for a year before I can take EMT-Intermediate?

A:  Per state and national regulations, you must be an EMT-Basic before taking an EMT-Intermediate class.  AEC currently does not require students to possess EMT-Basic for any amount of time.  However, many EMS councils do carry this requirement.  Check with your EMS council for information.

Q:  Once I pass EMT-Intermediate, can I go directly to EMT-Paramedic?

A:  Yes.  In order to enroll in the EMT-Paramedic course, you must either be an EMT-Intermediate, or have received notice that you have passed your EMT-I and provide this documentation to AEC.

Q:  I noticed that you are listed as a test site for the National Registry of EMTs practical exams. How do I register to take the exam with AEC?

A:  In order to take the examination with AEC, you must register with our administration office. Get all of the information you will need
here.

Q:  Do you accept credit cards for payment?

A:  Yes.  We currently accept Visa and MasterCard. Information on how to pay by credit is located on the registration forms.
