The following is a list of things you can do to make the start of class easier:

Bring the following items to class within the first few days of class (if not the first night):
   - 2 copies of your current EMT card***
   - a copy of your current CPR card***
   - a copy of your valid driver's license
   - GED or High School Diploma and/or proof of higher education via transcripts, college degree, etc.

   - criminal background check current within 3 months of the first day of class (AEC will provide directions
on how to obtain this on the first night of class if you do not have a current one).
   - a copy of your health insurance card
   - documentation of a negative drug screen within the past 180 days (from start of class)
   - documentation of a negative PPD or chest X-ray (TB test) (no older than 6 months from start of class)
   - documentation of start or completion of Hepatitis-B vaccination (3 series) or recent titer
   - documentation of positive MMR titer proving immunity
   - documentation of positive TdaP vaccine and/or titer proving immunity
   - documentation of positive Varicella (Chicken Pox) titer proving immunity or documented childhood case

***If your CPR card or EMT-B certification expires before the end of the class, you are responsible for renewing these on your own time.  AEC will not provide these certifications as a part of the program you enrolled in.  You may not participate in any rotations until all required certifications are current.  Failure to maintain these minimum requirements may result in dismissal from the program.

CEUs will not be awarded to any students attempting to achieve initial certification at the EMT-Intermediate level.

Be sure all of your textbooks have arrived and take them and your AEC binder (issued the first night of class) to every class.

Read and understand the policy manual.  This is very important. A copy will be provided for you at the first class along with alot of other important material.

Plan on being in class for the entire allotted time.  Weeknights are 7pm - 10pm, Saturdays are 9am - 4pm.

If you have any questions regarding the information on this page, contact your program coordinator.
